9/19/2023 0 Comments Black knight battletech![]() ![]() In vanilla, this thing is strong enough to one-hit kill a medium mech from behind with a single alpha strike even without using Precision Strike and is almost guaranteed to strip rear armor even if you don't hit CT. Considering the rest of the lance were Guano, Pontoon, and Stubble, the Black Knight not only had more armor than any of them, it also had jump distance big enough to backstab entire enemy lance (which tried to go after The B Team). ![]() Your Snub PPC has high chance to connect so your chosen target misses shots as you come in. Range differences means your Snub and ML do more work as you close in so heat not so bad anyway. You can Alpha Strike about 2 or so times before overheating even if you jump every turn. Then Max Armor the rest of tonnage on Heat Sinks/Exchangers, Melee Upgrades for Karate Action. So I had this Black Knight running in a "B Team" Base Capture mission: I slapped another Large Laser in there so I've got three now and a bunch of ML Update: I DID leave the jump jets on there! That's 4 tons that are easy to recoup. I don't remember if I took the jump jets off or not - maybe that's where all my extra tonnage went. I got two LL and 4 ML without much stretching, but it's really lacking in punch compared to the Marauder and Warhammer that it usually goes out with. I saw someone in a thread recently say it was a better energy platform than the Rifleman, so a couple days ago I tried to cram Large Lasers onto it. With all those energy hardpoints, I usually load it up with Medium Lasers and Small Lasers, and it jumps into battle like the Grasshopper.īut the Grasshopper seems to be a better punchbot with all the support weapons, so I usually use that, and the Black Knight is my second-tier guy. I always see people list the Black Knight as one of their favorites, and I just can't make it work. The Legion subsequently made the planet their base of operations.Okay, someone help me get it. The Legion took revenge on their former Lyran employer, Major Dupree, by hunting her down and wiping out the entire Lyran garrison on Voltrat III. McClair and his lancemates nearly killed Duke Ian Dresari and eliminated three of his closest supporters. Command of the unit was passed on to Eric McClair. The Legion was then approached by a Lyran Alliance mercenary liaison officer, Major Carissa Dupree, and offered a contract to support the Kentares Free Army in taking back Kentares IV on behalf of Archon Katherine Steiner-Davion.Ĭolonel Michael Lawhorn was double-crossed by his Lyran employer and killed in May of 3063. Working for the Corvatti Corporation, the Legion wiped out the pirates threatening Corvatti mining assets. The Legionnaires sold their lives dearly while successfully evacuating the planet's royal family. The Legion outmaneuvered, outfought, and outlasted "rebel upstarts," securing the world for its nominal government. ![]() Its canonical existence within the BattleTech universe is unconfirmed. Since the Black Knight Legion was only mentioned in an apocryphal source, it is itself apocryphal. Computer games as such do not fall under the current definition of Canon for the BattleTech universe even though they are official, licensed BattleTech products, making them apocryphal. The Black Knight Legion was introduced as the protagonist unit in the computer game MechWarrior 4: Black Knight. ![]()
